After weeks of negotiations with Newcastle United to acquire the services of defender Habib Beye, Hull City have reportedly agreed to meet the requested fee for the defender which is believed to be in the £4 million region.

Hull City which has been on a mini spending spree this summer are looking for estabished players to strenghten their team for the upcoming season after being saved from relegation on the last day of the season.  The team recently completed deals for Nigerian Seyi Olofinjana and American Jozy Altidore and might still make one more signing before the beginning of the season.

At the moment, Hull City is still looking to come to personal terms with the 31-year old Senegalese International and chairman Paul Duffen hopes to have the deal signed and sealed by next week.

"Habib Beye is a player we believe can add quality to the Hull squad.

"We are hoping to engage in conversation with him in the next couple of days."
