Ghana used the game to try some new strategy as they moved defender Samuel Inkoom to the midfield which proved to be a very wise decision. Inkoom took to the position instantly as he started an impressive run from midfield before releasing Michael Essien with a perfect through pass who then passed the favor with a quick pass to Sulley Muntari who wated no time tapping it in. Inkoom was also involved in the second goal a few minutes later where he made a cross into the Zambian box which was then deflected in by Zambian defender Stoppilo Sunzo. Inkoom was in the heart of the action one more time when he was taken down by Zambian defender Dennis Banda inside the box which resulted in a penalty kick for the Black Stars and the sending off of Banda. Junior Agogo stepped up to calmly take the penalty which resulted in the third goal of the first half. Ghana added one more goal before of the end of the first half courtesy of Haminu Dramani with assistance from Muntari and Essien. The Chipolopolo rallied for one goal before the end of the first half but were less than effective in the second half as they were totally outplayed by the Black Stars who used the rest of the time to give their substitutes more playing time. |

In a game that was supposed to be a warm-up game for both teams for their respective World Cup qualifiers, it seemed that only Ghana showed up to play. It could be said that Ghana had the upper hand in the match even before both teams took the pitch as the Zambian team arrived in London just hours before the game with only three substitutes in tow.
