Togolese International Emmanuel Adebayor scored a braced as Manchester City demolished Burnley 6-1 at rainy Turf Moor. City score three goals in the first seven minutes of the match through Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy and Carlos Tevez. Patrick Vieira was on target with a header to go up 4-0 and Adebayor made it five just before halftime. As the rain continued to pour, Vincent Kompany added the sixth for City in the 58th minute before Stephen Fletcher score a consolation goal for Burnley. The victory moved City to 59 points and fourth place, one point ahead of Tottenham, who were defeated by Sunderland.

| Drogba handed two-match UEFA ban |

| UEFA has banned Ivory Coast captain Didier Drogba for two European matches following his sending off during Chelsea’s Champions League defeat to Inter Milan. Drogba was shown a straight red for a stamp on Thiago Motta in the 87th minute, during the second leg of their Champions League tie, which Inter Milan won 3-1 on aggregate. Next season will be the third consecutive season in which Drogba will be suspended to begin the Champions League campaign. He was sent off against Manchester United in 2008 and was banned in 2009 for four games for confronting referring Tom Henning Ovrebo after Chelsea loss Barcelona. UEFA also extended Drogba’s probationary period by two years to 2013.
